WAIVERS
Waivers Is The Time Period In Which A Player, Who Is Dropped From The NHL Roster On A 1-Way Contract, Is Subject To Being Claimed By Another Team Before They Are Placed On The AHL Roster.
Only 1-Way Players Are Subject To Waivers.
Waivers Is Only Effective During The Season. No Waivers In The Offseason.
The waiver wire will be refreshed every Sunday. If you have made a waiver claim your team will go to the bottom of the waiver wire. The initaial waire wire order will be in reverse of the draft.
All 1 way contracted players that are trying to be sent to the minors must be announced on Proboards in the proper thread as well as notifying the LM or Global Moderator to have this waiver moved announced in the news thread. The 1st owner to say claim in that thread will win that player. Once the player has been claimed you must notify the LM or Global Moderator as that player waived will be removed from the news feed.
When A Player Is Claimed, The Team That Claimed The Player Takes On The Entire Contract. The Player Is Placed Immediately On The NHL Roster, And Is Subject To Waivers If The Claiming Team Subsequently Drops Him To The AHL Roster.
There is no waiver claim order so it is 1st come 1st serve on the proboards site.
RELEASED PLAYERS
Owners Can Drop Any Player From Their Roster At Any Point During The Season.
NOTE: See FP Rules About Releasing FPs
When A Player Is Released With Two Or Three Years Left On His Contract It Is Considered A "Buyout."
Buyout: Releasing A Player With Two (2) Or Three (3) Years Remaining On The Contract. If A Player Is Bought Out, 50% of Salary Is Retained And Counts Against The NHL Cap For The Duration Of The Contract.
Released Players Are Dropped Straight To Free Agency. They Do Not Pass Thru Waivers Before Being Released.
As Long As A Released Player Is Eligible For Free Agency, They May Be Put Up For Bid.
